Tutorial 3 - Miscellaneous Topics
Tutorial 3 is an example of a strong corner, which is two truths that overlap. This tutorial uses the strong corner to discuss a few miscellaneous points.
Open the Tutorial 3 Puzzle
· Click
the right tab of the puzzle list in the toolbar.............
· Scroll up and click on the puzzle called Tutorial 3.
· Click
on the load puzzle icon
to the right.
Note the strong corner at 9r2c7 where a red row truth intersects a blue cell truth.
Visually Link Eliminatees into Logic. Check [Logic View] / [Show Links to Eliminates]
Turn on Rank 0 Highlighting. Check [Logic View]/[Black Rank 0 Links] in the main menu to highlight all rank 0 links in black.
Note, even though there are 6 truths and 6 links, only one set is rank 0, the set in the link direction of the triplet.
Open the logic interconnect diagram. Click on the light gray square beyond the upper left corner of the grid, to the right of the transparency slider. This will bring up a small transparent interconnect diagram. Clicking again to enlarge the diagram. Clicking again will returns the diagram to the square icon. This is a truth - link interconnect diagram. Each small square is a candidate. Each pair of letters indicates a candidate in more than one link.
Rearrange the Link Diagram. Click the mouse inside the truth-link display on the intersection (small green box) of 2N7 and 7c7. Slowly drag the green box right until it is in the right most column. Diagrams can be arranged in any way desired for clarity.
Save the interconnect diagram. Select [Load Save]/[Store Truth/Link Diagram]. Note this only stores the current diagram, you must now resave the puzzle to save the diagram in the puzzle file. The red star indicates the diagram is saved and can be recalled. The square bracket indicates the file has not been saved wiht the diagram.
Resave the puzzle. Select [Load Save]/[Resave This Puzzle] in the main menu. You can now reload this diagram any time by selecting [Load Save] / [Retrieve Truth/Link Diagram] in the main menu.
