Mouse  As of version 1.00

The mouse is active anywhere in the display region, for menus, and for the transparency slider. The mouse right-button is used to popup candidate and cell menus, and to enter or exit 3D mode. Most mouse functions and menus are the same in 2D and 3D modes.

Mouse and 3D mode

From 2D mode, Right Double Click switches to 3D mode.

Mouse Movement performs 3D rotations in 3D mode.

In 3D mode, Right Click enables or disables 3D mouse rotation.

In 3D mode, Right Double Click switches to 2D mode.

Note 1: Clicking near 5r5c5 when entering 3D mode will give near zero rotation

Note 2: When 3D rotation is frozen, a crosshair mark appears at the freeze position. Rotation can be continued from this angle by right clicking near the cross hair.

Mouse Selection

Left Click on a candidate selects the candidate.

Left Click on a selected candidate de-selects the candidate.

Left Click On an empty candidate position selects the cell.

Left Click On a selected cell de-selects the cell.

Note: The control key is used exclusively for making multiple candidate and cell selections. Multiple candidates and cells can be selected at the same time. How they are used depends on the function.

Ctrl Left Click on a cell or candidate will either add or remove a cell or a candidate from the current selection. This works as a toggle function.

Left Click outside of the grid will de-select all candidates and cells.

The Popup Menus

Two popup menus control all editing functions, one for cells and one for candidates.

Right Click on a candidate brings up the candidate popup menu.

Right Click on an empty candidate positions brings up the cell popup menu.

Ctrl Right Click anywhere will force the cell popup menu. This is useful when there are many candidates.

Mouse Only Editing

The mouse can be used for editing truths, links and candidates without going through the popup menus. The popup menus have more functionality.

Left Click (first candidate) - Select first candidate.

Left Click (second candidate) - Toggle a truth or link that contains both candidates.

Left Double Click switches between truth entry and link entry modes. This applies in the Manual Truth edit mode only. In link entry mode, the cursor will become a pencil.

Note: Box sets are automatically used when selecting two candidates that don't share rows or columns (of course, they must share a box). Box sets can be forced for two candidates in the same row or column by pressing the [Alt] key during the second click.

Note 1: Multiple truths or links can be placed at the same time by first selecting several candidates and then using the candidate popup menu to place the truths or links

Note 2: The candidate popup menu has functions for placing entire places of truths are the same time.
